The Core Tech Platform team is responsible for the delivery of deep learning engines, cloud native services and DIY tools empowering internal Nuance teams and customers.

The Technical Product Management organization is responsible to ensure the right strategy, design and roadmap is in place to deliver the best user experience and developer experience possible to meet the growth needs of both the
Enterprise and Healthcare divisions.

Our team is seeking a highly energetic, passionate technology focused leader in Conversational AI and Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing to define and execute the strategy and vision for the Core Tech Tools, Platforms and Engines portfolios – working closely with R&D on execution and delivery excellence.

This role will report to the SVP Engineering and will manage a senior team of Technical Product Managers, Innovation Developers and UX designers.

The ideal candidate is a thought leader, with a strong technical background on delivering real world solutions to market and working in a fast paced high tech environment and familiar with cloud native technologies, DevOps processes and AI / data science.

Responsibilities include collaborating with different business units in defining vision, strategy and roadmap for the Core Tech Platform – working closely with R&D on execution excellence.


Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Create/Manage/Drive the Product Lifecycle & Product Roadmap
  • Own the technical requirements process for product features by working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Define and drive the relevant items on the technology roadmap as it relates to the business needs
  • Define quantitative accuracy and performance goals for the underlying technology in the context of application solutions; this includes involvement in relevant benchmarking activities
  • Engage closely with Research and Engineering units on best technical implementation methods as well as reasonable execution schedules
  • Investigate and understand market dynamics of competing technology solutions
  • Manage design (UI/UX) resources working on DIY tools and innovation project
  • Manage a small innovation team that runs ahead of product, validated new business, product and technical concepts.

Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent


Minimum years of work experience: 15+ years


Required skills:

  • Solid track record of building and delivering AI solutions
  • Proven experience in a product management role leading technical teams that deliver world class technologies
  • Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership, self-motivation and accountability
  • Outstanding communications ability to a diverse customer audience, product, and technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge in Enterprise and/or Healthcare segments
  • An inherent drive for perfection and creativity
  • Highly energetic and passionate about bringing new innovative technologies to market
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box both technically and creatively to help solve challenging technical problems
  • Fast learner on both technical side and business side
  • Experience running innovation teams, either solid or dotted line

Preferred skills: 

  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence, particularly machine learning, reasoning methods, ontologies
  • Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Deep Neural Networks would be an asset
  • Experience in speech recognition, natural language processing, dialogue management, natural language generation
